I’m not sure what to think about this one – it does have Ed Harris, but it also has several cringe-worthy moments in the trailer alone. Can a professional musician really watch a movie about classical music?

I saw this movie the weekend before Thanksgiving with my mother-in-law in Phoenix. I think it’s worth it, but truthfully my MIL paid for my ticket. At times, it’s vague and strange and I think there are a few scenes that are…not necessary that possibly even detract from the story. I found one of the opening sequences especially odd and nothing like the rest of the movie. Maybe it was supposed to be that way? Also, a little long but my brain has a 90 minute limit on all movies.
But, I think the movie was well worth it, if only for one thing, and I’m not going to say what because I don’t want to give it away. I will say at the least it is thought provoking (and that is not the one thing). If I had paid with my own money, I don’t think I would have been disappointed. With all the music, it’s like a concert in a movie theater where you’re allowed to eat and laugh out loud.
