We too knew Ken, as a friend of our “kids” and our family. We agree….he was one of the greatest guys we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Our love and prayers go out to Jean and the family.
Ken Baldwin was one of the first musicians I met when I moved to Portland 9 years ago, and he honored me with his friendship musical collaborations. He was devoted to his Portland State University students and was a model of personal and professional integrity. Even in the depths of illness he remained a cheery Minnesota guy with a wry sense of humor. Ever optimistic, he spoke of how much he missed playing and looked forward to returning to the Oregon Symphony. His commitment to music, devotion to his family, and bravery in the face of painful adversity will never be forgotten and will provide inspiration to his many friends and colleagues.
