The Oregon Cultural Trust is presenting the first ever “Oregon Day of Culture” all over the state today. Performances will take place in the following cities: Eugene, Medford, Portland, Bend, Gresham, Hood River, Lincoln City, and Pendleton.
Here in Portland, the festivities will take place from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts (1111 SW Broadway at Main), with performances by Fear No Music, Michael Allen Harrison, Jennifer Lanier, LiveWire!, and Portland Opera Studio Artists.

Fear No Music played a piece by John Paul, department chair at Marylhurst. What treat; a wonderful performance of a brilliant piece. Michael Allen Harrison played the first movement of his Mt. Hood sonata. All in all, it was a nice event and an apropos celebration.
