This year Heather and I will be ringing in the new year with Pink Martini at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, presented by the LA Philharmonic.  We’ll be part of the Harvey Rosencranz Orchestra, the extra complement of strings that Pink sometimes hauls out of Portland for big shows.

The last HRO gig I did out of town was playing two Carnegie Hall shows and taping the David Letterman Show in NYC.  This year’s travelling show should be fun as well.

I’ll post pictures and a summary of the day’s events upon my return.  See you next year!

Have a great time in “El Lay” – my home town.

If you have the chance, check out the most disgustingly wonderful double-cheese-chili burgers on earth @ Tommy’s. Only the original location at Beverly and Rampart will do. To truly get the full flavor of the experience, go at about 2 or 3 am on friday or Saturday night. It’s a landmark of the sort that only LA can offer. Trust me.

Now, for a more ethereal dining venture, shuttle on out to the Chart House in Malibu. It’s right on the rocks with a FANTASTIC view of the Pacific. Take a walk on the sand before and/or after. Save room for the most gargantuan mud pie you’ll ever TRY to eat.

AND, if you see my man, Esa-Pekka, tell him I’m still workin’ on bringing him to PDX!

I wish we had a chance to visit the places you’ve described – we were only there overnight – but we’ll return, perhaps over spring break, to do some exploring!
