Playboy is having an online poll for the “sexiest babes of classical music”. It seems apropos, as marketing female classical music stars via sex appeal is hardly a new phenomenon. They’re all fully clothed (and looking very fetching) – so if you’re into this sort of thing, take part in the poll.

In any case, all of the women shown would make Isoldes, Brunnhildes and/or Melisandes that we could actually believe in.

I voted for Ariana – twice! But I wonder if she is any relation to the astrophysicist Andrea Ghez one of the MacArthur Fellows of 2008? If so, that is a high achieving family with genes for brains, talent and looks.
