Many of you may know that Lance Armstrong has a foundation whose sole reason for being is eradicating cancer from the face of the earth. It’s called the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and its motto is Live Strong. This summer, a global initiative to raise awareness among world leaders has begun. Part of this process is creating the world’s largest dedication book – a book signed by thousands of people united to fight cancer, with each signature dedicated to someone who has inspired them to take up the fight.
I dedicated my page to my friend Jen Drake, a violist who lives in Boise, Idaho. She’s a member of the Darkwood Consort and the Boise Philharmonic. She’s one of the nicest, funniest, most earnest and fabulous people that you’ll ever meet. In spite of the fact that she’s fighting breast cancer. She has inspired so many young violists through her teaching and performing, and fought hard at the same time. That’s inspiring to me!
So, if you don’t mind, would you take a few seconds to go to the dedication page and adding your digital signature? It will only take a couple seconds, and it will make a difference. Maybe you’ll even add your own page honoring someone who has inspired you to make your voice heard.
Thanks!
