I. poco a poco agitato

Now, it’s the day before departure for New York. Yesterday was pretty relaxed. I picked up a loaner viola and bow to keep the fingers limber while here without my own instrument (which is probably across the Mississippi river by now). Starting to get a few pre-trip jitters now, just the usual stuff one gets trying to figure out what to bring and what to leave behind, and what time to leave for the airport. The Toledo Symphony got a rave review for their Carnegie Hall debut on Saturday night, and I’m pretty sure that the critics will be even more blown away by both our program and performance on Thursday (knock on wood). So, today will both go by very quickly and slowly, but I’m looking forward to the trip and performance very much. Stay tuned…
