The Northwest Horn Orchestra makes its now annual appearance at Portland’s Old Church for an evening of fun that only a roomful of horns could provide. Plus, did you know that AllClassicalFM’s Christa Wessel is a fine french horn player and that she’ll be playing with the group? Now you have even more reason to attend!
The concert will feature a 2013 commission by composer Michael Johanson, as well as works by Handel, Copeland, Tchesnokov, ABBA, pirates, Broadway show tunes, and music from the movies.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1st at Portland’s Old Church (newly repainted) – 1422 SW 11th Ave [map]
Tickets are available only at the door, and are $15 regular admission/$10 students and seniors.

Oh, Charles, thanks for the plug! But even calling my playing “fine” might be overstating things a bit. 🙂
Christa plays horn? How did I not know that? Wish I could go to this, it will bring me back to my horn playing days. Hardest instrument ever!
