- It is entirely possible to put way too much pressure on one’s self as a performer. Sometimes you just have to trust yourself and your colleagues.

- James Ehnes is a freak of nature. He did not even break a sweat during the Bernstein Serenade performance Saturday night. I, however, did, and in porcine fashion, no less.
- Unlike some of my colleagues, I love it when the end of a very soft movement unleashes a volley of coughing. It shows, to me, that they were completely invested in what was happening, and restrained themselves from coughing for the entirety of the movement. Those are special movements, indeed. Such was the Agathon movement of Leonard Bernstein’s Serenade Saturday night. Magical.
