We won’t know the numbers until an official audit is done, but the Oregon Symphony has declared that they have balanced the 2012-2013 budget – the fourth season in the black for the organization. This is tremendous news, as it means that we will keep our $1 million grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust Miller Foundation, which will be crucial in the continued viability of the orchestra. Thanks so much to everyone who contributed their hard-earned money to the orchestra!

Charles, what a huge relief! It must be very good to know the public came through for you, after the musicians gave back so much. One small thing: the $1 million grant is from the Miller Foundation, not Meyer.
Here’s to the start of a fifth year in the black!
Best wishes,
E
yes, great news, congratz!
however, i hope the OSO somehow finds the long term means to not need to rely on ultra-emergency, last minuet, band-aids.
