coming soon: classical currents

I’ve been trying to figure out where to focus my energies as my pandemic sabbatical drags on past the 8 month mark. I put out a message to some of my most trusted friends, asking what I might do. As it turns out, they had some great ideas – and the first one may well have been the best.

Starting in the next week or two, I’ll be putting out a post of upcoming classical (and maybe a few non-classical) live streams that you might want to know about. This will eventually involve interviews with participants in upcoming streams in an accompanying podcast – so there will be lots for me to do. It will be called Classical Currents. It will have its own web site, and I’ll post a link here when it’s live.

There will need to be a financial component to this, but I’m not quite there yet – rest assured that I’ll let you know how, when, and where to contribute to the production of this content!

As the classical landscape returns to something close to what we’d been used to in the Before Times, I’ll adapt the service to more of a concert guide and breaking news format, but still with a podcast attached. My hope is to have interviews and features on upcoming guest artists, composers, and conductors that appear with the Oregon Symphony in each season.

Of course, this blog will still exist as a irregular diary of what’s happening in my own personal musical life as well. Thanks for joining me on this journey!

We are so fortunate to have your musical talents, energy and sharing values. I’m looking forward to this as a valuable resource.
