This Friday Saturday we’re doing a one-night-only show with local sensation Storm Large. I had heard of Storm, but not actually heard her, and I was pleasantly surprised by her vocal prowess in sets largely made up of standards from the Great American Songbook. Songs by Elvis Costello, Storm Large, and John Lennon also are on the menu. The arrangements are all quite good, and some are downright spectacular, including some favorites by our own Pops conductor laureate Norman Leyden, and by Pink Martini arranger Stephen Taylor. The best available tickets are in the upper balcony ($35) – so it’s likely to be sold out before long, so get yours now! The concert is now sold out!
